Payne Stewart

William Payne Stewart (January 30, 1957 – October 25, 1999) was an American professional golfer known for his success on the PGA Tour. Over his career, he won eleven PGA Tour events, including three major championships. His first major title came at the 1989 PGA Championship, followed by a victory at the 1991 U.S. Open after a playoff. In 1999, Stewart won his third major title at the U.S. Open with a memorable 15 ft par putt on the final hole. Known for his distinctive clothing, Stewart had a large wardrobe and was often seen in flamboyant attire such as ivy caps and patterned pants. He was admired for his fluid and stylish golf swing.
