Pearl Charles

Pearl Charles is an American singer-songwriter known for her fusion of 1960s rock and 1970s cosmic country. Born on May 11, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, she earned a BFA in music from CalArts. Charles started her musical career at 18 as part of the country duo, the Driftwood Singers, and later joined the garage rock band, the Blank Tapes, as a drummer. In 2012, she embarked on a solo project and released her self-titled EP in 2015. With subdued vocals and uptempo, playful production, Charles has been compared to Lana Del Rey and Jenny Lewis. Her debut album, 'Sleepless Dreamer,' was released in 2018 by Kanine Records. Pearl Charles is also the daughter of Larry Charles.
