Percy Foreman
Percy Eugene Foreman (June 21, 1902 – August 25, 1988) was a criminal defense attorney from Houston, Texas. He was born near Bold Springs, Texas and later moved to Livingston, Texas. Foreman graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1927 and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1928. Known for his tactical skills, he became one of the most renowned trial lawyers in Texas. Throughout his career, he represented notable clients such as General Edwin Walker, James Earl Ray, Charles Harrelson, and Candy Mossler. Foreman had an impressive record, losing only 53 of 1500 death penalty cases, with only one case resulting in execution. The Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association honored his legacy by creating the Percy Foreman Lawyer of the Year Award in 1984.
