Peter Mullan Biography
Peter Mullan (born 2 November 1959) is a Scottish actor and filmmaker. He gained recognition for his role in Ken Loach's My Name Is Joe (1998), which earned him the Best Actor Award at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. Mullan has appeared in notable films such as The Claim (2000), Riff-Raff (1991), Braveheart (1995), Trainspotting (1996), and War Horse (2011). He has also made appearances in popular TV shows, including all three series of the BBC comedy Mum, where he starred as Michael. As a filmmaker, Mullan directed the critically acclaimed film The Magdalene Sisters (2002), for which he won the Golden Lion at the 59th Venice International Film Festival.
