Peter Stark Biography
Peter Stark is a British conductor, currently serving as Professor of Conducting at the Royal College of Music in London and Rehearsal Director of the European Union Youth Orchestra. He studied violin and conducting at the Royal College of Music, winning the Tagore Gold Medal and the Adrian Boult Conducting Scholarship. Stark furthered his conducting studies in Vienna with Sir Charles Mackerras. Prior to his conducting career, Stark spent ten years as a principal second violinist with the Welsh National Opera and two years with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted esteemed orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and has worked alongside renowned conductors such as Pierre Boulez and Sir Colin Davis.
