Phil Anselmo

Philip Hansen Anselmo (born June 30, 1968) is an American heavy metal musician best known as the lead singer for Pantera, Down, and Superjoint, amongst other musical projects. He is also the owner of Housecore Records. Anselmo is regarded as one of the greatest frontmen in metal history, known for his animated performances and machismo attitude. He initially drew inspiration from vocalists like Rob Halford but developed a more abrasive style over time. Anselmo was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and has Italian, French, and Danish ancestry.
