Philip Solomon
Dr. Philip Solomon (April 16, 1907 – May 31, 2002) was an American psychiatrist and researcher. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College in 1927 and Harvard Medical School, and served as a Commander in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Solomon held various positions, including Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Physician in Chief of Psychiatry at Boston City Hospital, and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCSD Medical School. He founded the College Mental Health Center in Boston in 1968. Solomon's research covered diverse areas such as electroencephalography, sensory deprivation, alcoholism, and suicide. He authored over 200 publications and multiple books. Solomon was married three times and had three children.
