    Rachel Robinson, born Rachel Annetta Isum on July 19, 1922, is an American former professor and registered nurse. She is best known as the widow of professional baseball player Jackie Robinson. Rachel attended Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles, California, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she met Jackie Robinson. They married in 1946 and had three children together. After Jackie's retirement, Rachel pursued her nursing career, obtaining a master's degree in psychiatric nursing from New York University. In addition to her nursing career, she founded the Jackie Robinson Foundation after her husband's death. Rachel Robinson has made significant contributions both in nursing and in honoring her husband's legacy.
