Randy Hall Biography
Randy Hall is an American singer, guitarist, and record producer known for his collaborations with Miles Davis in the 1980s. He played a significant role in arranging Davis' album 'The Man with the Horn' and provided lead vocals, guitar, synthesizer, and celesta on its title track. Hall, originally from Chicago, began his musical journey on the piano before transitioning to the guitar at the age of 13. He received lessons from British jazz guitarist Peter Budd and developed a unique playing technique resembling Wes Montgomery's style. Hall's friendship with Miles Davis' nephew, Vince Wilburn Jr, blossomed during their kindergarten years and led to their lifelong musical partnership. They both joined the local band Time, Space and Distance at the age of 16.
