    Ray Mendoza Biography
    Ray Mendoza, born José Díaz Velázquez on July 6, 1929, was a Mexican Luchador, or professional wrestler. He achieved great success in the National Wrestling Alliance, becoming a five-time World Light Heavyweight Champion and the first Mexican to hold that title. In 1975, Mendoza played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Universal Wrestling Association alongside Francisco Flores and Benjamín Mora. Throughout his career, he faced off against notable opponents such as Gran Hamada, Killer Kowalski, El Solitario, El Santo, and many others. After retiring from wrestling, Mendoza ventured into acting and appeared in several Mexican films. He was also the father of Los Villanos, a prominent wrestling family.
