Rebecca Carroll (born 1969) is an American writer, editor, and radio producer. She is currently the producer of special projects at WNYC and has served as the editor of collections such as Sugar in the Raw: Voices of Young Black Girls in America and Saving the Race: Conversations on Du Bois from a Collective Memoir of Souls. Carroll is also known for her work as a producer on the podcast There Goes the Neighborhood, which focuses on gentrification in Brooklyn. Prior to her current roles, she held positions as the managing editor at xoJane and the founding editor at Africana.com. In 2021, Carroll published her memoir, Surviving the White Gaze, which explores her experience growing up as the only Black person in a predominantly white community and the impact of meeting her white birth mother on her identity as a Black person.
