Rebecca Miller is an American filmmaker and novelist. Born on September 15, 1962, in Roxbury, Connecticut, she is the daughter of renowned playwright Arthur Miller and photographer Inge Morath. Miller is known for her work as a writer and director, with notable films including Angela (1995), Personal Velocity: Three Portraits (2002), The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005), The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009), and Maggie's Plan (2015). She has also written novels such as The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and Jacob's Folly. Miller's film Personal Velocity won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and she received the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Director for her film Angela.
