Rebecca Ryan (born 27 April 1991) is an English actress known for her roles in various television series. She gained recognition for portraying Carly Hope in the popular soap opera Emmerdale and Debbie Gallagher in the comedy-drama Shameless. Ryan also appeared as Vicki MacDonald in Waterloo Road, a school-based drama, and as Gemma Dean in the medical drama Casualty. From 2021 to 2022, she starred as Lydia Chambers in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. Ryan's early exposure to the entertainment industry began when she joined her brother on stage in The Who's Tommy at Manchester Opera House. Despite lacking formal acting training, her experience on the set of Shameless contributed to her growth as an actor.
