Reeson Wayne Shearsmith, born on August 27, 1969, is an English actor, writer, and comedian. He gained prominence as a member of The League of Gentlemen, a comedy troupe consisting of Mark Gatiss, Jeremy Dyson, and Steve Pemberton. Shearsmith co-created, wrote, and starred in the sitcom Psychoville and the dark comedy anthology series Inside No. 9 alongside Pemberton. His notable roles include appearances in Spaced and The World's End. Shearsmith was born in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and attended Andrew Marvell High School and Bretton Hall College of Education, where he met Gatiss and Pemberton. The League of Gentlemen received critical acclaim and won several awards, including a British Academy Television Award and a Golden Rose.
