Ric Garcia

Ric Garcia (born 1968) is an American fine arts painter, digital printmaker, and curator of Cuban ancestry. He is currently based in the Greater Washington, DC area. Garcia obtained a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration from the University of Miami. Raised in Miami within a close-knit Cuban American community, Garcia's parents were Cuban political refugees who immigrated to the US in 1966. His artwork draws inspiration from the traditions of pop art and celebrates Latino culture. Described as both eliciting emotional reactions and posing introspective questions, Garcia's work has been compared to the style of Andy Warhol. The Washington Post has also recognized his artistic talent.
