Richard Lawrence Ashton (born 26 September 1963) is an English former cricketer. Ashton, born in Northampton, Northamptonshire, played as a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler. He made his debut in County Cricket for Lincolnshire in 1988, playing a single Minor Counties Championship match against Durham. Ashton later joined Bedfordshire in 1991, where he played 3 Minor Counties Championship matches and a List A match against Worcestershire in the 1991 NatWest Trophy. In 1999 and 2000, Ashton represented the Northamptonshire Cricket Board, playing 2 List A matches. Throughout his career, Ashton scored 8 runs in List A matches and took 2 catches in the field.
