Richard Fitch Biography
Admiral Sir Richard George Alison Fitch (2 June 1929 – 15 February 1994) was a senior Royal Navy officer, serving as Second Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Personnel from 1986 to 1988. He joined the Royal Navy as a cadet in 1942 after his education at Royal Naval College Dartmouth. Fitch had an illustrious career, commanding various frigates and serving in senior positions such as Naval Assistant to the First Sea Lord and Director of Naval Warfare. He became a Lloyd's name after retirement. Fitch's dedication to the Navy and his contributions to the Royal Navy College, Greenwich, are noteworthy aspects of his career.
