    Richard Marks Biography
    Richard Marks (November 10, 1943 – December 31, 2018) was an American film editor known for his extensive work in the industry. Throughout his career, Marks edited more than 30 feature and television films, starting from 1972. Notably, he collaborated with director James L. Brooks on all of his feature films from 1983 to 2010. Marks began his career as an assistant editor for Barry Malkin on Francis Ford Coppola's early film The Rain People (1969). He also worked alongside renowned editor Dede Allen on films such as Alice's Restaurant (1969) and Serpico (1973), which he co-edited with her. Marks received multiple award nominations, including four Academy Awards, three ACE Eddie Awards, three BAFTA Awards, and an Emmy. He was a respected member of the American Cinema Editors.
