Richard Ritchie Biography
Richard Ritchie (born May 2, 1955) is a former American football quarterback and college football coach. He played for Texas A&I from 1973 to 1976, maintaining an undefeated record of 39–0. Ritchie helped Texas A&I win three consecutive National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division I national championships. Throughout his career, he scored 59 touchdowns through passing and running, and also served as a placekicker for the team. Following his playing days, Ritchie transitioned to coaching, working as an assistant coach for Texas, North Texas, and Texas Tech from 1977 to 1984. In recognition of his accomplishments, Ritchie was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
