Richard Sinclair
Richard Stephen Sinclair (born 6 June 1948) is an English progressive rock bassist, guitarist, and vocalist known for his contributions to the Canterbury scene. Born in Canterbury, England, Sinclair had a musical upbringing, with both his father and grandfather being musical entertainers in the area. He started playing the ukulele at age 3 and the guitar at 6. At the age of 15, he met Hugh and Brian Hopper of The Wilde Flowers, which led to him joining the band. In 1968, Sinclair became a founding member of Caravan, where he played bass guitar and shared lead vocals. He later left Caravan in 1972 to form Hatfield and the North.
