Roe Erister 'Rick' Hall (January 31, 1932 – January 2, 2018) was an influential American record producer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the owner of FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Hall, often referred to as the 'Father of Muscle Shoals Music,' played a pivotal role in recording and promoting country and soul music. He helped launch the careers of iconic musicians like Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Duane Allman, and Etta James. Throughout his career, Hall received numerous accolades, including induction into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1985 and the John Herbert Orr Pioneer Award. In 2014, he was honored with the Grammy Trustees Award for his remarkable contributions to the music industry.
