Rick Lazio

Enrico Anthony Lazio, born on March 13, 1958, is an American attorney and former four-term U.S. Representative from New York. He gained prominence during his campaign for the U.S. Senate in New York's 2000 Senate election, ultimately losing to Hillary Rodham Clinton. Lazio, a Long Island native, also unsuccessfully ran for the 2010 New York State Republican Party gubernatorial nomination. Lazio was born in Amityville, New York and attended West Islip High School. He holds an A.B. from Vassar College and a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law. Prior to his political career, Lazio served as an executive assistant district attorney for Suffolk County and was a member of the Suffolk County Legislature.
