Rob Murphy
Rob Murphy, born Robert Albert Murphy on May 26, 1960, is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a relief pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1985 to 1995. Murphy began his baseball career at the University of Florida, where he played college baseball. In 1981, he was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round (3rd pick) of the amateur draft. Throughout his career, Murphy also played for the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Florida Marlins. He was born in Miami, Florida and attended Christopher Columbus High School. Murphy's achievements include winning the District championship and receiving various awards during his high school career.
