Robert Alda Biography
Robert Alda (born Alfonso Giuseppe Giovanni Roberto D'Abruzzo; February 26, 1914 – May 3, 1986) was an Italian-American actor, singer, and dancer. He appeared in numerous Broadway productions before relocating to Italy in the early 1960s. Over the next two decades, Alda starred in several European films, occasionally returning to the U.S. for film appearances such as The Girl Who Knew Too Much (1969). He was the father of actors Alan and Antony Alda. Born in New York City to Italian parents, Alda began his career in vaudeville as a singer and dancer. He later transitioned to burlesque and gained recognition for his talents.
