    Robert P. H. Chang is an American materials scientist and academic. He is currently the head of the Materials Research Institute at Northwestern University. Chang has had a distinguished career, serving as the president of the Materials Research Society in 1989 and as a general secretary and president of the International Union of Materials Research Societies. He is a member of advisory boards for prestigious institutions such as the National Institute for Materials Science and the journal Science and Technology of Advanced Materials. With over 500 co-authored articles and more than 36,000 citations, Chang is highly regarded in his field. His research has made significant contributions to the understanding of thermoelectrics and solar cell technology.
