Robert Hardy Biography
Robert Hardy (1925-2017) was an English actor with a career spanning theatre, film, and television. He gained recognition for his roles in popular productions such as Siegfried Farnon in the BBC series All Creatures Great and Small, Cornelius Fudge in the Harry Potter film series, and Winston Churchill in various productions, including the Southern Television series Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years. Hardy received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor for his performances in All Creatures Great and Small (1980) and Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years (1982). Besides acting, Hardy was an expert on the medieval English longbow and authored two books on the subject. He was born in Cheltenham in 1925.
