Robert Hartley

Robert Hartley (1915-1998) was a British stage, film and television actor. He appeared in several films including 'At the Stroke of Nine' (1957) and 'Bread' (1971). Hartley also had a notable career in television, with appearances in popular shows such as 'Z-Cars' (1962–1974), 'The Avengers' (1963), and 'Grange Hill' (1979–1983). He showcased his versatility by playing a range of characters, from Bishop Fox in 'The Six Wives of Henry VIII' (1970) to a defendant in 'Crown Court' (1973). Other television credits include 'The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes' (1971–73), 'The Charmer' (1987), and 'Upstairs, Downstairs' where he portrayed a coroner in an episode titled 'Joke Over'.
