Robert Wolfe
Robert Wolfe (March 2, 1921 – December 10, 2014) was a World War II U.S. Army officer, historian, and retired senior archivist of the US National Archives. He served in both the Pacific and European Theaters of Operation and was wounded in both instances. Wolfe commanded a recon team and an anti-landmine platoon during his military career. He specialized in captured Nazi war documents and worked at the Archives for 34 years, holding the position of senior specialist for captured German and related records. Wolfe also contributed to the Nuremberg War Crimes trials and was involved in the rebuilding of the German civilian government after the European war.
