Ron Gilbert Biography
Ron Gilbert is an American video-game designer, programmer, and producer. He is best known for his work on several LucasArts adventure games, including Maniac Mansion and the Monkey Island series. Gilbert co-wrote Graphics BASIC while still a student in 1983, and later joined Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts) where he developed his own games and invented the SCUMM technology. After leaving LucasArts, he co-founded Humongous Entertainment and Cavedog Entertainment, producing games like Total Annihilation. Gilbert also cofounded Hulabee Entertainment and worked with Beep Games. He has made significant contributions to the gaming industry with his focus on interactive storytelling and continues to be a prominent figure in the field.
