Ron Ryan Biography
Ron Ryan is a Canadian former professional ice hockey coach and executive. Born on July 11, 1938, Ryan played junior hockey with the Guelph Biltmores before attending Colby College, where he had an impressive 245 points in 73 games. He later earned a graduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and began his career as an assistant athletic director at Merrimack College. In 1965, Ryan became the head coach of the Colgate University hockey team. He later joined the New England Whalers in 1972, initially serving as assistant general manager and eventually becoming the head coach. Ryan led the Whalers to a division title in 1973-74.
