Ron Swoboda is an American former professional baseball player and television sports color commentator. Born on June 30, 1944, in Baltimore, Maryland, Swoboda played in Major League Baseball as an outfielder from 1965 to 1973. He gained recognition as a member of the New York Mets team, nicknamed the Miracle Mets, which won the 1969 World Series against the Baltimore Orioles in an improbable upset. Swoboda's impressive defensive play in Game 4 of the series helped secure a Mets victory. Throughout his career, he also played for the Montreal Expos and the New York Yankees. In addition to his baseball career, Swoboda has worked as a television sports color commentator.
