Ronald Anthony White (April 5, 1939 – August 26, 1995) was an American baritone singer and songwriter, best known as the co-founder of The Miracles and its only consistent original member. White was instrumental in bringing Stevie Wonder to the attention of Motown Records and wrote numerous hit singles for The Miracles, as well as other artists such as The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Mary Wells. Born in Detroit, White began his friendship and musical partnership with Smokey Robinson at a young age. Alongside Robinson, White formed The Miracles in 1955 and the group became one of the most successful and influential acts of the Motown era. White was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Miracles in 2012.
