Rory Joseph Burns is an English cricketer who is known for his role as the captain of Surrey in first-class and List A cricket. Born on August 26, 1990, in Epsom, Surrey, Burns made his Test debut for the England cricket team in 2018. He has played as a left-handed opening batsman and has been a key player in leading Surrey to several County Championship titles, including in 2018, 2022, and 2023. Burns received his education at City of London Freemen's School, Whitgift School, and Cardiff Metropolitan University. He started his professional cricket career with Surrey and made his first-class debut in 2011.
