Rosalind Brown
Rosalind Brown, also known as Rosalind Mabel Haig Brown, was a British headmistress who served as the head of Oxford High School for thirty years. Born in London in 1872, she was the daughter of William Haig Brown, the headmaster of Charterhouse. After attending Guildford High School, Brown went on to study at Girton College, Cambridge, where she pursued mathematics and medieval history. Although Cambridge did not grant women degrees at the time, she obtained an M.A. degree from Trinity College, Dublin. Brown dedicated her career to education, particularly in the field of women's education, and made significant contributions as the headmistress of Oxford High School.
