Rosalind Chanette Ross (January 17, 1980 – September 15, 2010) was a talented basketball player who was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA. She attended Milwaukee Technical High School and later became a Junior College All-American for two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. Despite being sidelined with a knee injury, Ross was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the First Round of the WNBA draft in 2002. Unfortunately, she never played a game in the WNBA and was released by the Sparks in May 2003. After her basketball career, Ross worked as a security guard for Briggs & Stratton. Tragically, on September 15, 2010, she was shot and killed by her long-time partner.
