Roxana Saberi Biography
Roxana Saberi is an American CBS News correspondent, born on April 26, 1977. She gained recognition as the winner of the Miss North Dakota pageant. In 2009, Saberi faced a challenging experience when she was imprisoned in Iran's Evin Prison for 101 days on accusations of espionage. Despite denying the charges, she was convicted and initially sentenced to eight years in prison. However, an appeals court later reduced the charge to possessing classified information and her sentence to a two-year suspended term. Saberi wrote a book about her ordeal. She was born in Belleville, New Jersey, and later moved to Fargo, North Dakota, with her family.
