Ruth Kaufman

Ruth Kaufman OBE is a British specialist in operations research (OR). She is a visiting senior fellow at the London School of Economics, where her role is to create links between academics and OR practitioners. With a B.A. in Mathematics and Social Sciences from the University of Sussex, Kaufman has worked in OR in the fields of transport and electricity. She has held various government positions, including Chair of the Government Operational Research Service and Chair of the Heads of OR Forum. Kaufman was also the president of the Operational Research Society from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, she co-founded the society's Pro Bono OR scheme in 2013.
