Ruth Madeley
Ruth Madeley (born August 4, 1987) is a British actress known for her roles in Years and Years and The Rook. She was born with spina bifida and has actively worked with the charity Whizz-Kidz throughout her life. Madeley was nominated for a television BAFTA in 2016 for her work in Don't Take My Baby. Born in Westhoughton, she grew up with an older sister named Liz. Her father worked in customer services and her mother was a nurse. Madeley received a custom wheelchair from Whizz-Kidz at the age of 5, and has been involved with the charity ever since, including serving on the Kidz Board youth panel. She has also visited 10 Downing Street to discuss fundraising and awareness for the organization.
