Sally Hawkins Biography
Sally Cecilia Hawkins is an English actress known for her work in both stage and film productions. Born on April 27, 1976, Hawkins began her career on the stage after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared in notable plays such as Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Hawkins made her breakthrough in film with her role in Mike Leigh's All or Nothing in 2002. She continued collaborating with Leigh, earning critical acclaim for her performances in Vera Drake (2004) and Happy-Go-Lucky (2008), for which she won a Golden Globe Award and a Silver Bear. Hawkins has also appeared in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007) and Blue Jasmine (2013), receiving an Academy Award nomination for the latter.
