    Sam Valentine (October 13, 1934 – January 13, 1985) was an American football player. He played college football as a guard for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 1954 to 1956 and served as captain of the 1956 team. Valentine was recognized for his exceptional skills and received numerous accolades, including being named a first-team player on the 1956 College Football All-America Teams by the Football Writers Association of America and the Central Press Association. He also received second-team honors from the Associated Press and United Press. In 1957, Valentine was honored with the title of Pennsylvania's football athlete of the year.
