Samantha Bond Biography
Samantha Jane Bond (born November 27, 1961) is an English actress known for her roles in film and television. She gained recognition for portraying Miss Moneypenny in four James Bond films during the Pierce Brosnan era. Bond also played Lady Rosamund Painswick in the popular series Downton Abbey and originated the role of Miz Liz Probert in Rumpole of the Bailey. She is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and has appeared in various stage productions. On television, she is known for her roles as 'Auntie Angela' in the sitcom Outnumbered and Mrs Wormwood in the CBBC Doctor Who spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures. Bond comes from a family with a background in entertainment, and she was raised in London and Richmond-upon-Thames. She attended the Godolphin and Latymer School and studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
