Samantha Cole is an American singer-songwriter, born on October 31, 1975, in Southampton, New York. She began her musical journey at the age of 15, taking vocal lessons and securing singing engagements in New York. Cole gained prominence through her appearances on MTV's The Grind, making around 30 appearances and one performance. She also became a regular performer at Tatou in New York City. Cole's talent caught the attention of Universal Music's Doug Morris and Daniel Glass, leading to a record deal with Universal Records. Her self-titled debut studio album, released on September 9, 1997, featured eight songs co-written by Cole and produced by notable figures such as David Foster, Nile Rodgers, and Diane Warren.
