Samantha Simmonds

Samantha Simmonds (born 1973) is an English newsreader, television presenter, and journalist. She started her career as a reporter for local radio in Yorkshire and later became a producer on Channel Five News in London. Simmonds then joined BBC Breakfast as a presenter and spent two years reporting and presenting BBC London's news programs. In 2005, she joined Sky News as a news anchor and remained with the network until July 2016. In March 2017, Simmonds returned to presenting for BBC News. She was born to an Iranian mother and a Yorkshire-born father and grew up in Leeds. Simmonds studied at Liverpool University and holds a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism from City University in London.
