Sarah Abbott
Sarah Abbott (born 1969) is a Canadian filmmaker and artist known for her work in gender and First Nations specific films. She graduated from Queen's University with a major in Film Studies and Drama and received her Master of Fine Arts degree for Art Video from Syracuse University. Currently pursuing a doctorate at Royal Roads University for Interdisciplinary Social Sciences, Abbott has been involved in the film-making industry for over 20 years. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the 'Saskatchewan Lieutenant Governor’s Arts Award for Arts and Learning' in 2012. Abbott was a founding individual involved in the creation of Mispon, an indigenous film festival held in Regina, Saskatchewan. Currently, she serves as an associate professor at the University of Regina in the film department.
