Sarah Gallagher
Sarah Gallagher is a professor of astronomy at the University of Western Ontario. She specializes in the study of active galaxies, black holes, and compact galaxy groups. Gallagher received her undergraduate degree in physics from Yale University and went on to earn a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a high-school physics teacher and soccer coach. Gallagher has also held positions at MIT as part of the Chandra X-ray Observatory instrument team and as a NASA Spitzer Fellow at UCLA. From 2008, she has been a faculty member at the University of Western Ontario, where she also served as Science Advisor to the Canadian Space Agency from 2018 to 2022.
