Scott Freeman
Scott John Freeman (June 9, 1954 – July 23, 2004) was an American economist known for his contributions to economics, particularly in the areas of the optimal quantity of money, money and the business cycle, and the payments system. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1983. Freeman started his academic career at Boston College and later held positions at the University of Western Ontario, the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he worked as a research associate at the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and Minneapolis. Freeman's work was highly regarded, and he was recognized by economists such as Nobel laureate Finn Kydland.
