Scott Long
Scott Long (born June 5, 1963) is a US-born activist known for his work in international human rights, particularly on behalf of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals. He is the founder of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights Program at Human Rights Watch, which marked the establishment of the first major program on LGBT rights within a mainstream human rights organization. From 2004 to 2010, Long served as the executive director of this program. Additionally, he worked as a visiting fellow in the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School from 2011 to 2012. Long has been recognized as a leading authority on global LGBT issues and his blog, A Paper Bird, is widely regarded for its insightful commentary on global politics and sexuality.
