Scott Swanson (born February 2, 1975) is an American ice hockey coach and former defenseman. He played his junior hockey for the Omaha Lancers and was instrumental in helping the team win the Clark Cup in 1994. Swanson was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 9th round of the NHL Draft. He attended Colorado College, where he became an All-American and excelled as a defenseman. In his freshman season, Swanson finished third in the nation among defensemen in scoring and helped CC reach the NCAA championship game, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Throughout his college career, Swanson consistently contributed to his team's success, reaching the Frozen Four and posting career-highs in his senior year.
