Sean Nelson (born June 12, 1973) is an American musician and journalist. He is best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and keyboardist of the alternative rock group Harvey Danger. Nelson joined Harvey Danger in 1993 and played with the band until their farewell show in 2009. Their debut album, Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?, released in 1997, achieved Gold certification by the RIAA and featured the hit single 'Flagpole Sitta', which gained popularity after being featured in the film American Pie and as the theme song for the British sitcom Peep Show. In addition to his work with Harvey Danger, Nelson formed the band The Long Winters in 2001 before leaving in 2004.
