Shane Savage Biography
Shane Savage (born 5 January 1991) is a former Australian rules footballer who played as a medium-sized midfielder for the Hawthorn Football Club and St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by Hawthorn from the Dandenong Stingrays in the 2008 AFL Draft. Savage made his AFL debut in August 2009 and was nominated for the 2011 AFL Rising Star after a standout performance. In 2013, he was traded to St Kilda in exchange for Ben McEvoy. Savage played for St Kilda from 2014 onwards. He is of Māori and European New Zealander heritage.
